co-incidences came to light after the slaying of Kennedy. The following was noted: ( I will use K and L instead of their full names(too much typing involved!)

L's wife lost a child while living in the White House
K's wife lost a child while living in the White House

The assassin, John Wilkes Booth, was known by three names, comprised of fifteen letters
The assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was known by three names, comprised of fifteen letters

Booth(supposedly) shot Lincoln in a theatre and fled to a warehouse
Oswald(supposedly) shot Kennedy from a warehouse and fled to a theatre

Booth was killed before being brought to trial
Oswald was killed before being brought to trial

There were theories that Booth was part of a greater conspiracy
There were theories that Oswald was part of a greater conspiracy

Lincoln's successor was Andrew Johnson, born in 1808
Kennedy's successor was Lyndon Johnson, born in 1908

Co-incidences or more going on than we know?

Great post, Chris! The Lincoln/Kennedy similarities are fascinating coincidence/synchronicities. Another example is the post I made here about the fictional Titanic account that happened 14 years before the real Titanic tragedy.

I think any type of coincidence is the revelation of a meaningful underlying pattern of association, so I am more fond of the term synchronicity which implies this.

I find synchronicity pretty much daily (helped by the fact that I write them down). It comes with the territory of paying attention to the spirit world and all of the seemingly behind-the-scenes activities that are often ignored in the hustle and bustle of life. An example was the other day when I found Dawn's serpent photo while I was in the midst of creating a webpage on serpents and then received a photo from you with the same theme.

Is it like a confirmation or check point that you are where you're supposed to be at this time in your life?

What does it mean, is a good question. Probably as you said, confirmation of where you are supposed to be, and that there is purpose (pattern means non-random, hence purposeful).

As for snake spirits, I "see" them in my photos in abundance. I have since learned that serpents have played a huge role in religious beliefs of earlier civilizations, such as the Sumerians, Egyptians, and Mayans, to name just a few. Serpents and spirituality are quite connected. One example is kundalini, the yogic philosophy of ancient India where spiritual energy is thought of as a coiled snake residing at the base of the spine that will rise up the spine upon full spiritual awakening.

I think synchronicity is the name of the game. Carl Jung originally coined the phrase and is different as you said from co-incidence.

I see it as more of a treasure map, the more you align yourself and are open to this phenomena, the signposts pointing the way to the treasure, become easier to read.

Here is another tidbit on synchronicity
It seems that synchronicity appears most markedly when one is at a critical/special time in their life. When one analyses the events,and starts to come to terms with the meaning/s, this will be felt at a deeper level. There appears to be a change in perspectives of the person under going the event,and maybe a stronger connection between the 'inner' and 'outer worlds' relating to it.

Cool. This was what Jung said, that he noted synchronicity appeared most markedly at critical times? I know it is true for me. And because I spend such a significant portion of my time looking for meaning in life, I am bombarded by synchronicities. The majority of them are so personal though that when I share them with others, I can see that the great impact is mostly just for me. :quote:

One night when I was overseas and my son was being looked after back at home, I spent the evening covered in mosquito bites and itching like crazy. The next day my son's carer told me my son had experienced allergies in the night and spent most of the time scratching.

Once I had made a post on a forum about a case I had seen on TV a long time ago where a woman had a psychic vision about a murder and ended up being charged with that murder for knowing too much about it. (Thankfully the police found the real perpetrator shortly afterward). I couldn't remember the details of the story, but later that day I turned on the TV and that exact story was being shown.

Another time I had a dream my mom had fallen into a deep hole and couldn't get out. Later in the day, as I was recording this dream in my journal, the phone rang. It was my mom. She told me that the day before she had fallen into a newly dug hole for construction in her backyard. She was lucky to only have bruising and no broken bones.

Here is quite a well known example of synchronicity all about Plum pudding!!

This is the true story of the French writer Emile Deschamps who in 1805 is treated to some plum pudding by the stranger Monsieur de Fontgibu. Ten years later, he encounters plum pudding on the menu of a Paris restaurant, and wants to order some, but the waiter tells him the last dish has already been served to another customer, who turns out to be M. de Fontgibu. Many years later in 1832 Emile Deschamps is at a diner, and is once again offered plum pudding. He recalls the earlier incident and tells his friends that only M. de Fontgibu is missing to make the setting complete, and in the same instant the now senile M. de Fontgibu enters the room by mistake.

I seem to have been born to the mysteries of life. I can't ever remember not having an interest in the spiritual part of life.

So you, like myself, have been awake to these topics from early days. To us it is quite the norm and not strange at all.
One can understand then, how someone approaching these subjects later in life, may have difficulty comprehending some of the topics.

Mine was an awakening (hence the title of my site and forum). However, I have always been interested in such things as tiny beings (though I figured for absolute sure they were all make-believe--even up until my first not-deleted photo of a fairy early this year). And I've always been intrigued (but terrified of ghosts and spirits). I felt that ESP was probably valid and it fascinated me because I could mesh it with science somehow. I also believed in kundalini and altered states of consciousness. I believe there must have been a good reason why it took me until mid-life to find a portal to the other dimensions. What I do know is that it was a floodgate and one exciting ride has ensued!

My breakthrough moment came a couple of years ago when my mom told me her mother's spirit had visited her. Because it was my mom that told me, my doubt was seriously at bay. A great desire rose in me to know if there is a spirit world. I had to know. So I started to read on what made most sense to me at that time--near death experiences. The books I read about people who had died and came back were amazing, believable, profound, and life-changing. The gates were open.

Eventually I found my way to spirit photography. This was a way for me to have firsthand proof of a greater reality, which it certainly provided for me.

All going in the same direction, on different paths, at different times.
