Mexico's Teotihuacan, once the centre of a sprawling pre-Hispanic empire, is set to become the launch pad for an attempt to communicate with extraterrestrial life. Yahoo's "Time Capsule" project--will be digitized and beamed with a laser into space on Oct. 25 from the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan, now an archeological site near Mexico City. Archeologists say a culture centered in Teotihuacan, known as the City of the Gods, dominated Mesoamerica for hundreds of years during the first millennium. It is unclear what led to the society's collapse. In the 1970s, astronomer Carl Sagan compiled a record with sounds and images, including a mariachi band and greetings in an ancient Sumerian language, to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth. His record was sent out with the Voyager spacecraft in the hope that extraterrestrial life forms would eventually find it. What are your thoughts on this event?

I hope they get a reply! A little story about potential alien contact...the other night I went outside with my DH (darling husband) to see a demonstration of his new green-beamed laser-pointer which he aimed up at the clouds. Only a second after he switched it off, I saw a short blue beam flash in a downward angle in the same spot our green beam had been pointed. It all happened so fast...I wish I could rewind somehow because all the doubt starts creeping in as to what if anything happened when you only get a one-second window phenomenon. I tried aiming the pointer up there again, but I did not see a repeat. I'll have to try again!

Would the general public know, even if anybody or anything, did reply?
Regarding the green laser Alsia, I wonder if you know what is the maximum distance the beam can travel?

I recently read this Alisa:
For almost 50 years, SETI researchers have concentrated on detecting radio signals. However, researchers have come to think alien civilisations could also plausibly use laser light to communicate and have begun Optical SETI programs to detect these communications.
Maybe yours worked!!

Did you see the film "Contact", starring Jodi Foster? It was rather a long and drawn out film, about a scientist who has been looking for answers all her life. After her father dies, she puts time and effort into sending radio beams into space. One day she receives a signal back from a star called Vega. As the countries of the world unite in an effort to decode the transmission, the planet faces the message with equal parts hope and fear, for contained within it are blueprints for a machine of intergalactic travel capable of transporting its passenger to deep space. It could mean the dawning of an astounding new era --or certain Armageddon. I don't want to spoil the ending for those who may wish to see it, but I found it rather disappointing.

Maybe we did make contact. And speaking of "Contact", yes, I did see that movie. I liked it, but I do understand the disappointment. Meanwhile, I must say that after reading books like Abduction: Human Encounters with Aliens by Dr. John Mack, Alien Agenda by Jim Marrs, Breakthrough by Whitley Strieber, Dolores Cannon's books, and with reference to aliens in so many other paranormal/spiritual books, I don't question in the least that aliens exist and contact some of us on a regular basis. I will soon be posting my personal experiences (as meager as they are) with this phenomenon.

One more thing Alisa. Do you think that Aliens(not too sure about this term)are actually entities living in the physical universe, having to travel through space or coming interdimensionally, and slipping in and out of the dimensions. Or, a mixture of both? I think we could actually tie in all the current topics in this one!

That's such a good question. I can only say that I believe they have physical craft in some instances. I also think that there would be life on other planets well capable of visiting. However, interdimensionality seems to play a part in all of these things. The answers are slowly forming for me, but admittedly at this point, they are not all here yet. And I do think you are correct that current topics all tie in.

Scientists have claimed that new radio telescopes may be able to pick up TV transmissions from alien civilisations. Any aliens within 1,000 light years of Earth could be detected by spotting their leaking television signals. One of the first of the new-generation telescopes is the Low Frequency Array being built in the Netherlands. It is equipped to receive radio waves emitted by hydrogen molecules in the early universe. Although these signals originally had short wavelengths, the expanding universe has stretched them over time. Today they have wavelengths of several metres, which means they fall within the range of TV, radio, and military radar transmissions. Scientist Dr Abraham Loeb, from Harvard University in the US, said: "By a happy accident, the telescopes will be sensitive to just the kind of radio emission that our civilisation is leaking into space." If ET is producing similar signals, these will be visible as "spikes" in the radio spectrum, a science magazine reported. But whether aliens are discovered depends crucially on their stage of development. To pick up TV or radio signals from an alien civilisation, it would have to be about as advanced as our own. ( I wonder what kind of programmes the aliens would watch  - Maybe they just tune in to us and have a good
