Undines are one of the 4 elemental spirits named by Paracelsus, an alchemist. Undines are the elements of the water (and apparently all of them are female?) I must confess that I know little about undines because I simply haven't researched into them. However, today I was going through a ton of old photographs. I saw this 'undine' or 'water spirit' in a pool of water. I'm not going to tell you what I think it is, but I bet Alisa recognizes him right away. lol I'm going to put post this on my site sometime. I'm thinking of building a Sylph and Undine section. Don't know if I will or not. Just wanted to share... Okay, let me have it... Dawn The second photo is the 'sized down' scanned copy of the photograph just to give you an idea of how big the pool of water is. There's 2 guys fishing off the bolders near the middle of the picture. This photo was taken in 1992. ~~

Thank you so much for sharing your photo and introducing this great topic of water spirits. We are in such synch because I have been into nature spirits this week, thinking about them, learning a little bit. I do see a wolf (well, more than one) in the water. I also believe I see the sea turtle. Can you can outline or circle the them? I see multiple images in here...

Don't laugh too much. I've never actually outlined a spirit before. lol I know there's something in the upper left hand side of the pool, but I just don't have the skills to color it in nor outline it. So without further ado...

OMG, that is awesome! Your outlining is very good! And the images are now very clear to me! And as much as I love the wolf, and I do, the turtle is my favourite. I can genuinely see these images now. It just goes to show how we each have a unique vision, a subjective view that is equal to every other view in the world. Sometimes we all see things very similarly, sometimes not, but every view is a valid piece of the whole. And your visions add to my view - thanks! I am just so happy to have you sharing your visions like this. I have to add that when I saw my first fairies in a photo, I felt I needed to outline because I was concerned not everyone could see them. I tried to find someone who could/would outline them for me as I had no idea how to use a photo-paint program, and every attempt I made seemed so awkward. I actually wrote to someone that had a website with wonderful computer drawings asking them to help me outline the fairies. I waited a few days for a reply wanting so much to post my pictures with a nice outline and share this "miracle". I never did get a reply, and it wasn't long before I saw the humour in my request. Instead I used trial-and-error (with great frustration) until I found a few ways to make the photo clearer. Then, each new photo I struggled to highlight made the next one a bit easier. And as you work to bring out your visions, you will probably find different ways to enhance and highlight them to suit each instance. Sometimes I use tinting via the airbrush on a soft-wide setting to just tap a bit of colour (like the peach tone on the flesh of the shadow woman). Sometimes simply circling the image is the best I can do. But I hope you will find more images and mark them up to share, because these are wonderful!

Thanks Alisa. I got to admit that the turtle is my favorite too. But this picture is the perfect example of 2 random critter images sharing space. I got to confess, I would have loved to have seen the faces of the tech people you asked about outlining fairies. I bet it was priceless! lol Just think Alisa, you probably gave them fun and happiness for days after that... Cool! that's a positive thing! Dawn

So this is not a photo of spirit images to you... Yes, I figure I did give someone a little surprise with my fairies photo. Even beyond the strangeness of it being fairies, was expecting that the artist would just "see" them as I did.

I apologize, I am a country girl and to me a picture of a critter is a picture of a critter and calling it images was meant casually as a reference. I do think that you have capture spirits in your photos and it still amazes me that more people can't see them. I apologize again. I didn't mean to insinuate anything negative.

Dawn, I enjoy your comments and participation immensely. Always feel free to share and express your feelings (belief or disbelief) because it is all welcome, informative and thought-provoking. You are clever and I am always triggered to think of more things thanks to you! I don't require anyone to agree with me or believe in the same things I do to hang out and discuss. Reality is so subjective that I have yet to find anyone that believes exactly as I do (or even all that close, come to think of it... ). Chris and I have generally both agreed on whether a photo contains high concentration of spirits, but only sometimes do we see the same spirit images. I also have friends who study mythology and come from an academic viewpoint about fairies, spirit wolves, dogmen, etc., but are not making a leap to encompass them in their reality (whereas I didn't give a second thought to these "myths" until I saw them first - go figure ). Another friend experiences werewolves, but is only focused on that. Some only on orbs, with very firm beliefs of what they are that differ from mine, etc., etc. But no one believes exactly as I do, which I accept. Some will maintain these spirit photos and experiences are all imagination. That is their choice and determines their view, which will only extend as far as the boundaries they erect. And for some that is probably enough and comfortable. To me it is all spirit and I am compelled to learn more. To me it is all manifestation of purpose, structure, and intention of creation. Whether we all see the same thing, or only one person sees it. Every image that has meaning enough to register in a person's consciousness is a clue, a pattern a thread (IMO). No two people will experience it all the same (IMO), just as everyone has a different view of what is good, beautiful, or yummy. With passions and visions that cover a spectrum, that's what makes the world so rich! Having everyone see and feel identically would be a disaster. Though I am far from fully enlightened, I struggle and strive to accept everyone's visions. Everyone's visions all together make up reality. One person's view is just a thread in the massive, intricate fabric of reality. (IMO) The more of the fabric I want to see, the more views I must encompass. Ipso facto, the more I accept, the more I see. Finish for now... Again I thank you for participating and hope you will continue to put in your frequently! I need it.

[color:#6600CC]Are you still clinking those beer glasses Alisa?
Hi to both of you, I have just been catching up on your posts.
Water spirits just like all the other spirits of the other elements are wonderful. They can appear in all shapes and sizes. I know Alisa sees a lot of animals, with me, I view them as people. that is just the way it is.Over the past months I have taken many water photos of different states of water - the sea, fast flowing streams, puddles, canals, swimming pools - and captured wonderful shots. I never cease to be amazed at the richness and diversity of this element.[/color]

Chris! I could get rid of the beer mugs and toast you with a martini? Yes, you were the one to encourage me to try photographing water spirits ever so long ago now, and trying to capture other nature spirits during the daytime. They do abound. I see lots of dragons in the water. But my first image after your suggestion to try water was this guy (who might be human with a mustache, though he reminds me of a lion-man):

By the way, it is very nice to have your input and your presence about!

Hey Alisa and Chriss! We're caught in a chain of storms, so I'm trying to visit on borrowed time here. Alisa that's a beauty of a human face and I can see why he reminds you a bit of a lion too. Chriss it's so great to see you again. It's always wonderful to visit here with you and Alisa. I have a thought on the 'seeing' part of what's in the pictures... I think it's like when my husband, my son and I look at a car, we all see something different. I see a means to travel here and there or go to the grocery store. My husband sees the beauty of the make and model and can tell you just about every mechanical part. My son as a teenager saw a car as freedom and to be able to date. We all would be looking at the same vehicle, but seeing it quite differently. 3 aspects of 1 subject. Much like our differences in what we see when we look at the interesting captures in photos. What do you think? Does it make sense?

Hi Dawn! This is such a treat to have us all here chatting together! It is like the three blind men and the elephant that we used as an analogy once before here in our topics. The men all described the elephant differently though it was the same elephant. To me, all reality is like this...no one would describe it in the same way. Therefore, every single view is a facet that taken together paints a complex, detailed picture that everyone can look at as a whole and know that their piece went into the making of it.

My version goes like this -
There is a general reality where people know " this is a chair, this is a building" etc.We all tend to see the same type thing, albeit from different angles at times.
There is also personal reality and that seems to depend on how you operate through your own sensing abilities of your 5 accepted senses, brain and nervous system. Add to this the input of your upbringing, education, religious instruction, etc, what you class as important in your life.
A further refinement to your reality is when you add in what people class as psychic abilities -clairvoyance, clairaudience etc, that certainly widens up the whole reality screen. It's like going from watching tv on 17inch screen to a 42inch screen. The difference and definition is greatly enhanced and - more enjoyable I have to say.
