I think most of us have had spiritual encounters in which contain music, and most pagan festivles contain songs and music for spiritual reasons, so, is music really spiritual?

I think it is, personally. I think music is art, and art is very spiritual, the idea usually comming from the soul. But, whats your take?

I think music is language. Also, sounds/notes have been linked with levitation and opening interdimensional doorways, amongst other things. Music is magical.

The best I can do is share my extracurricular experiences thus far with music and spirit. Here are some examples from my journal:

Last night I had dreams or experiences that were almost impossible to put into words, but very profound. I was immersed in a very fundamental reality as if flowing along with giant moray eels... there was some form of music inherent to and running through this reality.

Some beings I had been speaking with during sleep needed me conscious, which is why I found myself awake. They had spoken in my mind while I was unconscious. Their voices were accompanied by music that reminded me of a TV game show theme in its enthusiasm and grandness (trumpets!), yet it was a little more choppy and nothing I can remember ever specifically hearing before. (Actually I think their voices were music, I was just able to understand the equivalency in word).

I woke at intervals in the night bringing with me conscious statements of important facts. The last one I remembered this morning and prompted me to wake and try to record whatever else I could remember was, �A [form of] lap guitar is played by all cultures�. And I knew this related in some way to music as a basic level of communication.

Not to mention that I receive countless hints, synchronicities and messages by noting the tune or lyrics running through my mind at any given time.

Another interesting thing to explore is kymotropes by MythMathFilms. Kymotropes are animated oscillographs set to music of similar sine waves. It speaks to the soul. I am fortunate to have the DVD which prompted this dream:

I dreamed that I received a book (looking much like the Kymotrope DVD cover) that was about how to talk to God. It was labeled �stereograms� and showed pictures of kymotropes.

This post inspired a dream experience last night, in which I said to you (OMJ), "May I sing to your soul?" And I was filled with such joy to be in the presence of your soul. Sparkles of light were coming from you like rainbow confetti (and I wanted to save them as an icon to load on my computer, they were so pretty). And I saw this huge eye of your soul and it was benevolent, but very serious and powerful.

I woke fully in wonder determined to remember so I could tell you.

Wow, cool. You seem to see my soul as a very powerful one in you dreams. In mine however, it seems less so, accept for a few.


Again, cool. I can be quite serious at times, like the last time I went to hospital, I was sitting like I do at times, and the nurse looked at me and said "Have I done anything wrong?"
My mother turned to her and said "Don't worry, he always looks like that." The nurse laughed and said, "He just looked so serious, I thought I might have done somthing wrong." I smirked and chuckled, and my mum laughed.

I have seen several people's souls and sometimes I also see one of their alternate forms/identities.

As you know, I also like to do intuitive drawings, which is kind of like automatic writing, but where I let my hand draw what it wants only tempered with my intellect. Want me to share the intuitive drawing I made of one of your forms here? It's up to you.

I enjoyed the story of the nurse's reaction to your serious look. Of course I know you to be one of the most compassionate people I've ever met, so I find it especially funny and would love to have seen that look!
