A few days ago - I was philosophizing with my father (Which doesn't happen much), when, he said to me an awesome idea - almost a theory - which seemed to fit well, if you're a believer in many sorts of things, corresponding to what he said, which I shall tell you soon.
Over the past few weeks/months, I've been slowly drawn hither, out of my small area of disbelief over Aliens - and once again, started theorizing, and "studying", such as a photo of a humanoid skull on mars (Though they say it's a rock - it's shape and markings are too skull-ish, and I do not believe in coincidence.)
The idea my father had, seemed to fit a lot of history:
We were brought here by aliens. Like a colonization of a planet. The mother-ship of the fleet (If there was a fleet - not just one huge dreadnought), was called God. And where, may I ask you, do we look, when we look for god? The sky.
This seems to answer mysteries, such as how the Egyptians managed to build pyramids - without any weight-lifting gear of any sort - and so many of them, too! And, maybe the reason for the calendar pyramids of the Mayans, and their amazing accuracy in their calculations.
And even to lengths such as moses parting the water (If a helicopter can dip water with its downdraft - a ship with many powerful engines could surely part water with the down force!), and maybe too, this ship was called moses?
Just thought I'd post. x]

Very interesting! The Symbolic and literal meet. I believe we are planted here...but you have added an interesting possibility I had not thought of. I was thinking about you today and your theories about machines and how they have a spirit (or such). It kinda ties in with aliens and God. Anyway, it led me to this thought that that nothing is unnatural. Because if the earth is "natural", everything that comes from the earth is natural. We come from the earth so we are natural, and whatever we create is natural and made from elements of the natural earth. I suddenly thought of cylons (of Battle Star Galactic) and that cool saga of them, as machines created by humans, finding God. And I had always wondered about other science fiction, like Terminator, where machines become alive and conscious. I used to think it was a far stretch, but now I actually do believe that all things are natural and have spirit. And iron is a natural occurring element, and though alloys like steel must be mixed by man, it is still a result of natural elements. So how do metal and flesh compare? More thought is needed to follow this through. But that's my rough sketch. Also, along the lines of natural, it helped me feel better, more accepting and less guilty of liking things that have been vilified by naturalists. Things like plastic. Much more to be thought, but it's a start

Lol, thanks ALisa,
The whole living machine idea, I'm very fond of. As stated in I-robot, computers seem to have personalities, because of the random sequences of code, generated when processing data. Well, what are our personalities, then random sequences of code? I do think we need to be careful with Artificial Intelligences - just in case. You never know what could come out of it.
I liked the alloy bit in you're post. It kinda reminded me of natural birth. Two gene sets combining into one - kinda like Alloys, I guess? Each with different properties which may help, or not help.
Flesh and Metal? Well, I guess our bones are only a solid compound. Agreed, its alive - but it doesn't have feeling, or blood circulation. Its as alive as our fingernails. It grows, but, isn't really live.. I know metal doesn't grow, but, it's kinda the same.. It would hold in the 'organs', and the flesh over it, give it structure, and protect it ect.
You're right there, too. That everything is natural, as it comes from the earth. I don't think that we should use the earths materials for our own personal gain, though.. Agreed, our current state of development needs things such as cars, but, for things such as nuclear power? Nuh-uh.

Oh man, this topic could really take on a life of It's own! Your post was so much fun to read. It started opening so many doors of thought for me. I liked your point about "random sequences of code". Wow. And then the fingernails being alive but without feeling. And how many people have metal plates and even metal bone replacements. How much of us could be synthetic and yet we remain alive. It's so intriguing to think about. According to metaphysics, everything is comprised of energy, and from what I have learned, everything is also conscious. (Including rocks). That is freaky, but I do believe it is true. I remember when I first learned about white blood cells behaving as if they had a mind of their own and attacking foreign particles in the blood stream. It was at that point that I began to understand and accept that we are comprised of subintelligences. Now I feel that indeed each bit of us (physically) has its own consciousness. And sorry for this going off on a tangent, but...one most precious thing I have learned is that the spirit world and spirit entities are also comprised of subintelligences. When I capture spirit photos, or when I see them in the patterned surface of physical objects, they are indeed filled with smaller and smaller beings. Much like our bodies comprised of cells that then group into organs, and limbs and finally make up our whole body. I think everything (physical and spiritual) are nested from micro to macroscopic and comprised of intelligences. And that leads me to why I feel such a strong desire to align myself with a greater divine will, because I am part of a larger entity myself and I seek balance and harmony with "my others". I am comprised of a group and I make up a group. And so on and so on infinity. Whew. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.metawake.info/images/graemlins/whew.gif) Okay, as for using earth materials for our own personal gain...why not? Animals and all organisms live off of earth materials. We are all children of the earth spirit. We are the subintelligences of it. It feeds us and we feed it. It loves us and we love it. I also believe that the earth is as resourceful as we can BELIEVE that it is. We are only limited by our belief so if we chose to believe we are using up the earth, then we are more likely to experience that reality. If we chose to realize the infinity of possibilities and that abundance exists, then we experience that. And that ties into my irritation at fear-mongering about climate changes and resource issues. I think that it is beautiful to find efficiency and I advocate for that. I love science and ecology and I admire those that find ways to make us happier, better, more full-filled through physical resources. I think we find what we are focusing on and looking for so if we believe we are running out of resources, we are heading in that negative direction. But if we are looking to improve and increase resources, then that is what we will find. It's looking for abundance through optimism versus worrying about depletion through fear. Nuclear power...I haven't explored that yet.

I don't believe in coincidence either.
Boat naming dates back to 1500BC - some say it was as early as 480BC in Egypt... But the point is, back then we only had water bound vessels... But where did the naming stem from?
Also... And this is interesting... Back in those times, boats were almost always war vessels and named after gods and deities (among other things)that would lend a worthy name to the ship.
