Originally, I liked this picture of my rose bud for it's beauty and sense of serenity (and because I was pleased with the good job that I did in taking it. shy )

I didn't pay much attention to it's detail, just it's over all quality and sense of beauty...

Then Alisa pointed out a lovely rain drop on the petal that's almost perfectly round. Kewl! dance
I hadn't noticed it before.
In the original size crop (picture#3), it looks almost airborne to me. ~dance o'joy~ bunnydance

Awwww! tearsofjoy Truly a top post and top photo! winner

Thanks for your kind words toward me, as always!

It is a beautiful rose, too. I do find roses magnificent, especially at this stage in bloom. But I was fascinated with the great photography, the dew drop caught (YES! in mid-air!) as a perfect sphere like a little crystal ball. crystalball

omgosh And the little hairs so visible on the leaf! magnify It really is a great photo and I wonder what megapixel your camera is and if you chose the focus or if it automatically focused?

My camera is an,
Olympus Camedia C-765 Ultra Zoom
4.0 megapixels
10x zoom
The best description of it is at a website called Steve's Digicams
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/c765uz.html
~~~
I've had my camera since for 3 or 4 years. I love my camera except for it absolute nightmare in low light. My indoor pictures of people are less than good quality. frown I hate this issue of my camera.
But it's a dandy for outside shots as long as it isn't overcast or shady (or if the sun isn't too bright. But I bought a polarizing filter and now my bright sunlight pictures are about 75% success ratio.)
I've only started taking stunning pictures with it this year... sometime in the spring I suddenly learned to use the zoom/macro technique. It was one of the awesome moments of 'duh!' doh After all these years, I was so shocked that I hadn't discovered this technique before... I almost felt stupid that I hadn't learned to use it before now... mmm it's quite interesting. thinking
Here's my technique... I stand back a few feet and adjust the zoom at a half dozen different settings and take pictures with each setting and usually I'll have several decent ones...
My camera is supposed to have a macro mode on it. I've no clue how one sets a macro mode because there's not a button anywhere for it... so I can only concluded that it's a built in mode and it's what makes the main subject of the photo clearer than the background.
I can't always get this technique to work out right no matter how many different zoom distances I try, but when it does... well....
I'm absolutely awestruck at the quality... angel
Here's a cute little ladybug on my tomato vine.
And of course I also like to take fun pix as well...
This is me by a tree...
Thanks Alisa for your wonderful comments...
I love roses too, but my rose-tree or tree-rose is the only one that I've ever had to live and grow. So, it's special to me and that makes your comments all the more appreciated and sweet.
What a treat your photos are. Honestly. yes I love the ladybug (or ladybird depending on your lingo), but particularly the detail of the very hairy tomato vine. It is the magic of nature nature captured so clearly. tearsofjoy
And the bumble bee in flight! I'm just amazed! [Linked Image]
[Linked Image] You and the tree...so creative and cute!
