As I love to say at the beginning of any new topic that I love to discuss...Oh goody goody gumdrops!!!

Now that THAT'S out of the way, here goes.

What I think about psychics is this...at first I was amazed, then less amazed & now only amused. This is why. When I was about 10 - 12 yrs old, my mom started introducing me to the world of metaphysics. Mediums, psychics, meditation,the paranormal- all of it! At first it felt like a whole new world, but as time grew on, it began to feel like "This is all completely normal stuff, why doesn't everyone else know about this". What I'm talking about is the human's capability to "see" beyond our own human perimeters.

At first it is quite amazing to discover that another human being can tap into certian "powers of the mind", but when you start to discover that we can all do it, then it starts to lose it's excitement just a bit, as it's considered more common.

Take planes for example, at first everyone just marveled at the fact that man could now fly, sore the sky like eagles! There were only an exclusive few who could really partake, as flying was so expensive in the birth of this era. Then as it became more & more accessible to all, it lost it's essence as a miracle, & moved right into being a mondane necessity. Same w/ psychics, the more people watch, the more they learn about it. The more they learn about it, the more thay know. The more they know, the less 'new & exciting' it becomes. The less 'new & exciting' it becomes, the more it's like hopping a plane to have lunch in L.A.! It just becomes the norm.

This to most would seem to be taking a somber tone towards dismissal, but I actually think that the hype that is starting to die down about psychics, is a sign that this(tapping into the other side & a universal consciuosness) is not just theory anymore, but a reality that all are starting to accept.

Also because we are starting to realize that these psychics aren't the magical people that we first made them out to be, but merely regular people like you & I, that are just better at harnessing the universal power that our minds contain. We are all capable of the same, some just come here better naturally trained in how to use it!

Think about this, have you ever thought about a movie or song that you haven't seen or heard in a really long time? Then as if you reached out & pulled it into your reality, it appears on TV, or the radio a couple of days later! That's because you really did literally 'pull it into your reality' by just thinking about it. That is how it works, sometimes w/no effort at all. Or how about this, you haven't thought about or talked to a certian friend in a long time. One day your doing yard work & your mind drifts to this friend & you think to yourself, "I wonder what they're up to". Three days later who should happen to call but that very friend!

I believe that this is our subconscious mind working to help connect w/our consciouss mind. The two marry every once in a while to show us little tid-bits of what we could actually do if we focused on it w/intention.We all have this sight, gift, power whatever it is that some may call it. The third eye is my favorite name for it, I think it describes the action of "seeing" more accurately.

Another thing that brings me to this conclusion is the all elusive 90% of the brain that we supposedly don't use. If this is infact true (that we NEVER use it), then how do we explain such things as levitation, conscious bilocation, Mental telepathy & the mother w/superhuman strength that lifted a car by herself to free her trapped child? These are the things that we are all capable of & I believe that the knowledge of these things, all exist & live in that part of our brain(the supossed 90% unused part) which I believe to be the God-consciousness of our being. I think that scientists believe this to be a dormant part of our brains because it sends out such high frequencies that we haven't yet figured out how to detect those frequencies w/any tools known to man....yet! If we all opperate on a higher frequency when we evolve our consiousness to a soul level, then is it really so hard to believe that this 90% of the brain is infact the soul part of us that opperates on such a high freq., that we just haven't figured out how to track it yet? I would have to say "no.". It isn't at all hard for me to believe that we humans haven't yet figured out all of the intricacies of how the human mind, body, soul & universe all work together. But this I am sure of, THEY ALL WORK TOGETHER - to get us all on the same page of who we really are & what we can really do.

So when it all comes down to it, do I believe in psychics? You Bet! Would I call them psychics? Nope. They are simply humans like all of us, that are just better at tapping into their natural universal senses... I would call them Naturals!

That was just beautiful, Jaime! I really, really loved the part about how we get used to things like airplanes and psychics and how our current nonchalance is the fact that this is permeating and becoming a more conscious part of our reality!

And I agree that we all have this ability but to varying degrees. Well said!

Unfortunately(I don't mean 'unfortunately' that they stopped by, but rather that I didn't have a chance to post) last night we had some unexpected company that showed up around 9PM, & didn't leave until about midnight. They had heard about Spencer's injury at a resturaunt that we frequent, & just stopped by to see him. So after that little visit I was too tired to post & had to put it to bed, so I could be bright eyed & bushy tailed today for Spence's Bday.

I'm going to reply to a couple of posts first, but I'll write it after.

Oh, but I'm not so sure. =P Says the voice of the shadow in the world of light, the whispered words of the Cheshire cat!

Do not put a generic blindfold over the world of the mystic, JimJam! Sure, flight may be an every day thing, but just because I know how it works, doesn't mean I don't gawp at the marvell of the aircraft every time I see one - which I do very often, living close to an airport!

Same with psychics. Sure, the blindfold of the storyteller has fallen off the eyes of the public since late, and the world has been opened to the metaphysical, more so then the psychics let on, but can you honestly tell me that just because you are involved in the world of the metaphysical, you wouldn't find a world of wonder from a mystic - even in a child-like sense?

Alisa herself is a well-practiced Seer, or so I believe,yet, just because I delve into the world of the metaphysical, doesn't mean I do not marvell in her spiritual prowess in all things interpretable.

The magic is still there JimJam, you just have to look from a different angle.

I'll let Jaime speak for herself, but I think that we lose the magic because we move on. What once seemed exciting now seems ordinary. We have to keep seeking out something new and magic to entice us into further discoveries.

I used to relish every ghost documentary, but now I yawn at them. I know there are ghosts/spirits, so I need something more.

Still, I love the devil's advocate in you that keeps challenging ideas and turning the tables to keep us from being too complacent. That's what the devil's for, right? (Ha ha, but I'm sure you'll now argue against this).

That, I suppose that has merit, too.
I suppose when it comes down to it, it depends on how many angles one thing has until every viewable angle becomes the average.

Perhaps it is about viewing every angle until it becomes average.

I know I've generally thought that all things have as many unique perspectives as their are people to perceive. Kinda like the 3 blind men and the elephant...it seems like they are describing totally separate things, but really it was just different angles.

Anyway, I appreciate the many new angles you challenge me to see from, OMJ.

Oh boy OMJ, you keep my fingers so busy at times...but 'Ti's what I love about you! I think you might have misunderstood my original post. I didn't mean that I have lost all enthusiasm for psychics. If that is the message I conveyed to you, let me re-convey.



As someone who is very deeply passionate about metaphysics & mysticism, I also have realized that more than being extraordinary, it is very ordinary. Why? Because we are all here to learn what we are made of. When we first get here (earth), we as infants have a hard time seeing ourselves as separate from our mothers. It's only after we have the chance to experience the world more first hand as toddlers, that we realize that we are indeed separate beings & that mom was just the vessel that we arrived in. Although at one time completely attached to mom (physically, by the umbilical cord), we soon start to realize that we are two separate beings, as we mature. Then as we grow to be children, we realize that we actually have our own likes & dislikes when it comes to such things as food, clothes, thoughts & perceptions. As we further mature into adolescents we start to question everything. Why? Because as individuals that is our natural growth pattern. First we accept, then we ask why, then we listen, then we learn ....Then we decide for ourselves. Soon we stop believing that we are extensions of our vessels & start believing that we are in fact individuals ourselves, Vessels even, for someone else...who will come into this world believing for some short time that THEY are just extensions of US. Until they one day realize that they are indeed separate beings, then individuals & last but not least; the vessels that will bring a new individual, into his/her own. Until we learn later, that we are extensions...but not just of our mothers, but of a bigger whole, a bigger source, if you will.



This is how I look at Metaphysics, mysticism, & the universe. At first, my infant (in theory, not literally) mind said "This is so cool!" - when I learned certain things that mainstream society didn't accept or believe to be true. Then as I researched & soaked up everything I've learned on the subjects as I grew older, those beliefs became my 'core' & even so, became the beliefs of more of our society "mainstream". Does this make it mundane or generic for me? No, but now it's just not some belief that I consider a secret, that I was lucky enough to stumble upon anymore. Now, for me anyway, it's just simply reality. Does this make it any less special? Nope, just more normal. Then I go in search of more, & the more I learn, whether mainstream beliefs or not; the more I accept. And ironically the more I seem to accept, the more the world seems to accept, at about the same pace. Which makes it less extraordinary than ordinary. Do you follow me?



Think about the first time you rode your bike as a tot without training wheels. The exhilaration you felt as you took off down the side walk on 2 wheels vs 4 wheels. You felt free & magical...nothing could stop you! Then as you grew older, you were allowed to ride your bike in the street...WOW what a rush! Now you had to obey the street rules that adults in cars had to obey...you were a big boy!!! At this time you're thinking "Could life get any better?". YES...because then you get your license! Four lane traffic, freeways,blinking lights; you've even gone from a nifty little bell on the handlebars to a big bad horn & two lovely middle fingers to express your joy or dismay at your fellow drivers! And ironically you're back to 4 wheels. Now I ask you, as a grown man do you still feel like "Hell on wheels" when you ride your bicycle today? I'm sure you feel good when you ride that old bike, but really, is it magical like it used to be? I think not. Because you've grown from that stage, realizing that everybody can do it & at some point or another EVERYBODY WILL DO IT. Some may do it quicker & even better than others, but eventually it's all a very normal, ordinary thing that most everyone is quite capable of doing.



This is how I view everything that I have since learned that everyone is capable of doing. Including but not limited to connecting with spirit, medium-ship, clairvoyance, the paranormal, metaphysics, mysticism & psychic connections as well as being able to "see", feel & interpret things from other dimensions. At some point the more people that realize that this is possible for all to tap into, the more normal & ordinary it becomes. And the more ordinary it becomes, the less magical it becomes - because it isn't magic...it's reality.


Does this mean that it has become lackluster for me? Nope, just more normal or ordinary rather than EXTRAORDINARY. Like, being in awe of a magician ...until you learn the illusion behind his tricks! Isn't that what our human limitations are in the end anyway...Illusions! We are under the impression that magical, gifted, chosen ones posses the power to "see" & communicate with other dimensions, when in reality we are all gifted, magical see-ers, visionaries, vessels, extensions & individuals that stem from the same whole. And in the end, we will all find that we could always do these things, we just had to get past the ILLUSION that WE COULDN'T do them.


I am very much still in awe of these things OMJ, but not in awe of the people who claim to be the ONES who can do them. In awe more so, of the people who still believe that they CAN'T!

You’re all great with your perceptions analogies theories or whatever the angles you put on things. I sit here reading it all and absorbing it all as I tilt my head to one side and rub my chin while in the classic the thinker position deep thought and allowing my mind to travel into meditation on the energies and pathways you put before me.

Upon my mind’s return to consciousness I am overwhelmed with sensations probably produced by the chemical changes within me while in that state and try to validate it all so I can extract some meaning or validation which is a natural instinct.

Many times I conclude that it really doesn’t matter at all and I have learned to simply enjoy the journey and the shear experience of it.

I’ve learnt to be respectful and non judgmental over the years as I spiritually matured of everyone’s beliefs and JJ summed it up perfectly saying “we are all gifted, magical see-ers, visionaries, vessels, extensions & individuals that stem from the same whole”
