I wanted to post about something I experienced the other night. Before I do, let me say that describing this is going to be tough, I hope I can describe it accurately & I'm looking to find anyone else that might have experienced this same type of thing. I'm going to sound like a nut ball while trying to describe this, but trust me when I say that I've NEVER experienced anything like this before, so it will be a challenge to try to describe it.
OK, so about 3 nights ago I'm sitting in my recliner watching TV. I was reclined to only the footstool position of the chair, w/arms stretched out on the armrests, feet stretched out over the footrest. I don't even know if the position of my body is relevant, but I figure I'll give it to you exactly the way it happened.
So I'm sitting there completely conscious, not even drowsy, but quite relaxed. All of a sudden I feel this strange sensation throughout my whole body! Then during this 3-5 seconds everything went completely quiet. To try to describe the sensation that took over my body...it felt like for 3 to 5 seconds my whole body was vibrating, but more intense then vibration per say. It was almost as if I could FEEL every drop of blood in my body coursing through my veins. This didn't just happen throughout my body, I could also feel it in my head. It was a feeling of electricity...I think. It wasn't so much a vibrating as it was a pulsating feeling. This happened so quickly that I almost doubted that it really happened at all. But after sitting there for about 2 straight minutes debating w/myself if this had just really happened, I decided that it did indeed happen. I'd like to use an analogy of what it felt like, but I have a hard time trying to compare this to anything else that I've experienced. The best I can do is probably this...have you ever been focused on something & all of a sudden you hear your refrigerator turn off? You think to yourself, "Wow I didn't even know it was running until it turned off!" You know that the refrigerator runs through cycles, you know that these cycles are very obvious when you're not distracted. You hear it click on, you hear the slight hum of the cycle, & if you walk up to your fridge & place your hand on the side of it, you can actually feel the vibrating/pulsating of the cycle in full run. Sometimes depending on what you're involved in at the moment, you hear it end a cycle & you think to yourself, " Oh that was the fridge.". That is very much what this experience reminds me of. As I was laying there watching my TV, I literally felt this pulsating, at the same time the entire house went quiet. But this was a different kind of quiet. I did not mute the TV, yet I could no longer hear it. I could hear no appliances running (ironically), I could hear no traffic outside, I know this sounds strange, but I couldn't even hear my thoughts in my own head, not during this 3-5 second time frame. I felt this vibration from head to toe, the whole body. I could almost hear this vibrating within my body, although I could no longer hear the things of my outside world. It happened so fast. Then all at once, as if someone had flipped a switch, it stopped. The vibrating/pulsating sensation & the sound vacuum just stopped & everything returned to normal. I could again hear & my body felt normal. The weird thing is, that once those 3-5 seconds passed & everything WAS back to normal, I felt as if this 'normal' feeling was all WRONG. I don't know why, but feeling as I normally do, FELT wrong. All of the sounds that came back into my consciousness felt wrong, like they didn't belong, almost as if they were silly & insignificant. The feeling that returned to my body also felt wrong. All I can say to explain what I mean is that the normal 'feeling' of my body as a whole, felt like a facade. I know, I know I sound crazy, but it felt for one split second like as if the body I was in didn't feel genuine. Can anyone understand that? I do not know what I experienced, but a couple of minutes after this happened, I tried to figure out what had just taken place. I remember thinking to myself, "What the hell just happened & what does it mean?". Then as if it were a direct answer to my question, the words of Walt Whitman rang in my head..."You will hardly know who I am, or what I mean". I think this was my own thought. I am aware of this famous quote, so it seems like it could have been my own answer to my own question. But it came so quickly after I asked the question, that I don't really KNOW if it was my thought or an inserted thought. The other thing I found weird was that I noticed during the vibrating/pulsating feeling, that it tickled my body. Not to the point that it made me move or jump during this, but enough for me to think, " that kind of tickled!". Ooh, I just thought of a good analogy of the vibrating feeling & sound vacuum, a water hose! The way it feels in your hand (if you hold it by the hose & not the hand grip) while the water is turned on, is kind of what my entire body felt like. And the sudden quiet that takes place after the water is turned off, is kind of what the sound vacuum was like. Like you didn't even hear it or notice it was running, until it was turned off. This feeling coupled with a feeling of electrical current running through not just my body, but better yet, through my veins. If anyone has ever experienced this type of feeling before & it didn't take place during a meditation, or any other kind of focused exercise, please share your story. Or if you just have an opinion about it, I myself am at a loss. But I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since the night it happened. I am open to any & all ideas & I take things like this very seriously, so no idea or opinion will be judged, feel free to share.

How coool!! You have really had some amazing experiences lately! I have input, though I have not experienced this exact thing. I have read about others experiencing it, and a friend once told me of a silence that lasted about 5 seconds that reminds me very much of this. I believe you experienced an expanded awareness where your higher self (or spirit guide, etc.) communicated to you using an apt quote stored in your memory (thanks to Walt), showing you a peek of the powerful being that you are that you are unaware of because you are in body and hence have gone through the "veil of forgetfulness". When people have NDEs and OBEs, and they experience a bit of who they truly are outside of body, they often describe returning to body as feeling awkward, superficial, etc. When having an OBE or even an extended consciousness where you see from what seems 360 degrees all around and know all that is going on, feeling everything, you would be aware of the energy running through your body, much like the water through the garden hose. This energy is also called kundalini. It is IMO a life force that is a small tendril of a much larger power source that connects us all. Anyway, with your recent fairy sighting experience and this, it sounds like your consciousness is expanding quickly. It is a wondrous thing. I feel connected to you and when you describe your experiences I feel like I witness them somehow. Or witnessED them (perhaps my spirit was there). I really love how you allow yourself to feel and remember your experiences so intricately as you stretch and reach for words and analogies to describe things that are seemingly indescribable. It is magic! You are so wonderful and I'm so grateful to be allowed to share in your experiences through your writing!
