Ok, I didn't know where to post this at at first I was going to put it in the dream section, but since I don't believe I was really dreaming I guess I can just keep it here well anyway what happened was today around maybe 8:30am I was sleeping but kinda like the in and out sort of sleep. Basically I would fall heavily into a good sleep but snap right back out. Can't really tell u how long I would snap out or how long I thought I was asleep. But the oddest thing happened or maybe any of you guys experienced this? It was like I was in sleep paralysis but I could move which is strange because the whole point of paralysis is when u can't move, but I distinctively remembered my eyes like fluttering and me sitting up in bed reaching over to my bedside table which is on the left of bed to grab remote to turn on T.V. Now let me get to the point of why I wanted to turn the T.V. on it was because I guess I was having some sort of anxiety about some creepy stuff I read last night it still was in my subconscious I believe, but the real thing was because every time I was about to drift into a good sleep I would here like the buzzing of bees and like the sound of tappings on my window. Now The tappings could have been in my mind but that weird buzzing sound was real and it would happen every time I got to the point of a deep sleep that's why I kept waking up. Like I said I remember knowing or "seeing" myself or my eyes rapidly fluttering as I was sitting up pointing the remote to turn on the telly, but the funny thing is when I got up for real maybe three hours later the t.v. was off! yep it was not on and no one was home except me and my dogs, so it's impossible for anyone to come home without me knowing from my barking dogs then come into my room without me knowing that they came in to turn of the T.V. and I am pretty sure I didn't dream me turning the t.v. on. In fact I know it was turned on because I remember rolling on one of my dogs to get remote and she jumped up from me rolling on top of her. The whole eye rollings and weird buzz sounds were kinda scary so does anybody have any ideas of what happened? or if you had a similar experience I would love to hear about it! thanks, Orb

Wow, what a fascinating experience! The in-between-wake-and-sleep state is where you are altered enough to experience the spirit world, but still have your conscious mind to record the experience and to access your memory and logic to some degree. I have not experienced the bee buzzing noise, but this phenomena sounds familiar so I probably read about someone else experiencing it. My theory as to what you have experienced is...you consciously experienced one of the many possible dimensions created by your possible choices. It is a dimension/pathway that you ended up not taking, but had the privilege of experiencing so you could ponder what it means. My And thanks for sharing, OQ!

Thanks Alucia! I never thought of that concept at first I was like maybe it was a out of body experience even astral travel I dunno just throwing some stuff out there, but what you came up with makes lots of sense and that would explain the T.V. being off. I guess it's like being in two realities at once like you said a "dimension created." When I think of the bees buzzing it reminds me of when you take like a sleeping pill and your body gets all tingling like you have buzzing all over your body, but just add the sound with it that was the effect I got when this happened. Good idea I'll do some research on it and see if anybody else had the same sensations. oh and one more thing when I have my eyes close I can still see literally. I can see like if my eyes were open. Can you do this? I even tested myself to see if first I wasn't going crazy and then to find out if I was cheating like having my eyes half close or peeping out them. So three nights ago I made sure consciously that my eyes were fully close and that I was aiming for the sleep state. Sure enough I saw the side of the room where I was facing with my eyes closed. I don't know how often I done this but I distinctively remember twice and it's always at night right when you get real comfortable that you are about to fall into the sleep arena. I asked Brandon could he do this and he said no and of course that I was just weird LOL! he even said I might be imagining this that is why I decided to test myself in the first place. So, any ideas of what is happening? oh I always sleep on my left side facing the window and everytime I do this I can see what I am facing like the window, wall, curtains even the left side of bed. But it's not like I'm hovering over myself it's always from the angle of how I'm positioned like if I would just open my eyes and whatever I was facing would be there, so if I was on my back looking up with eyes closed I would see the ceiling even the details of it like the color and what kind of texture things like that. so I would love more of your heck let's throw in a bill Thanks buddy,

Come to think of it, I have experienced a sensation similar to buzzing, but maybe I interpret it differently and that's why I didn't think of bees. It is a loud sound that encompasses everything it seems, kinda like the sound of static on TV. I remember when I first started experimenting with altered states my hearing would become extremely enhanced (maybe merely due to stillness of other senses)...I would then hear all kinds of loud noises that were actually very soft noises amplified. One loud noise that I immediately interpreted as an intruder shuffling noisily down the hallway was actually the soft sound of my husband breathing next to me. It's quite amazing that you can consciously experiment seeing with your eyes closed. I'd take advantage of that and continue to experiment. This happens to me spontaneously. A few times, it was like one set of my eyes opening, then another, and then my actual eyes, all in succession. I also see the room just as it is, or slightly altered (missing furniture for example). One time when lying down to sleep, I began to see through the wall to outside (with my eyes shut). What I saw out there was just as it is in real life behind that wall, but in the sky I saw a beautiful crystaline space craft. As far as out of body or astral travel, I've come to think that it may well be the ability to focus your attention and inner vision outside of your body. I have so many times seen what is happening outside of my house while I am inside in an altered state (expanded awareness). What I see is usually very much like it would appear to my physical eyes, however, within the landscape I see things that I do not see with my physical eyes, such as space craft (as I said above), entities, spirits, and sometimes the landscape is altered in ways as well. I believe that what you are seeing is the larger reality. Keep believing, keep allowing, keep seeing...and keep me posted, please.

That's exactly right just like static! ooo I'm so glad you know first hand what I'm experiencing. Static is the perfect word to use when referring to the buzzing because that's the feelings I get just with the bee sounds.I think I know what you are talking about with the eyes opening up then another in your inner vision because I did that on one occasion. I know my real eyes were close but then I saw like the dark part open up to lighter part then its like a little whirling tunnel and then another part opens and this happens in succession too. I tried focusing again on seeing with my eyes close, but lately no success I don't know if it's because I'm actually trying to do it and it only works when I'm not thinking about it or what. But I tried a couple times now and I keep thinking my thoughts are getting in the way. I hope it happens again spontaneously!! I'll definitely tell you if it does:) Thanks for all your support Alisa I'm so glad I have a friend I can share all these things with and who actually listens and believes me at the same time LOL!!!! you know people like that are hard to come by. I wish they weren't so few in numbers, but I'm happy I have you in my corner: Love, orbie

I was just doing some research on sleep paralysis and it seems like it's a very open field that most scientist don't completely understand. Many people has had the same symptoms I have, but they all assume well from the comments I read that this is all dealing with demons or evil spirits trying to take over there body. Now I don't believe that at all since most of the commentors seemed like real hard Christians. First off, I don't believe in that junk and second I never seen any bad spirits or creatures or monsters when I have sleep paralysis. In the Scientific world they believe its all in your mind of course LOL! they say that it can be triggered by stress or anxiety and that your mind is awake first before your body this is why there is that sleep/awake element. They believe that your mind knows that you are still sleeping so therefore it triggers your body to become comatose so you won't act out a dream. This is a preventive method so you won't hurt yourself that is because your muscles haven't woken up so you can't move. I also researched the buzzing sound and came across a lot of people who have experienced what we have and many described it as you did Alisa. Some say it had a static electricity feel and lots of others also had the buzz sound too. Some called it humming noises, a radio signal sound, low waves crashing and intense vibrations. In the sleep paralysis world the doctors refer to it at auditory hallucinations, but many are in agreement that this may be a start or a beginning into a OBE!!!! have you heard of this guy or website called Ecknar? someone mention it I want to look into that info. I was surprised that so many people have experienced what I have dealing with these sounds. There was even one person who says that it gets loud then louder and louder exactly what I said that's when it gets scary then you suppose to pop out! I don't know if my soul popped out or not. If this is indeed a OBE I'm having it would be interesting!! So far it seems like everything I'm reading about is leading towards the OBE phenomenon. Another person said that Sylvia Browne talked about this and she called it Astral Catalepsy. Does it sound familiar?? she says that's when the soul exits out and tries to fix problems your having in your everyday life by traveling off to different realms, well something on that order LOL!!! I haven't researched that yet, but I thought I'll give you a heads up on what I'm finding out. Oh yeah they also called it "Lucid dreaming" okay I'm editing this to say that I now firmly believe it was "Astral Catalepsy" after reading this article on it, it makes so much sense now and how the woman explains it, is so simple and takes the fear out of it completely. I even found out that this was researched back in 1930 by a guy named Sylvan Mauldon. If you like you can check out the link I have posted. It's a short read and very informative and straight to the point just the way I like it;) http://activesideinfinity.blogspot.com/2007/10/astral-catalepsy.htmlIt even has a list of the different symptoms that goes along with this phenomenon and I basically checked all of them LOL!! now I just have to figure out how the "other" Brandon fits into all of this.

Thanks a lot for sharing all of this OQ. I enjoyed reading about your experience! I can see you are diligently investigating and working out what this phenomenon is all about. There are many ideas that go by different names, but I think it all points to the same thing and same experiences that many of us have. My favourite books on the subject (out-of-body) are Robert Monroe's Journey Out of Body, Far Journeys, and Ultimate Journey.

I've had 3 sleep paralysis episodes now and will tell you about the last one.
It followed an extremely vivid dream where I saw an enormous tree leaning over with an enormous expanse of roots exposed, I'm talking the size of a sky scraper kind of tree, just towering out of the ground, on a lush and vibrant surrounding with Lot's of green and blue colours in the plantation and moss. It seemed alien and actually reminded me of a scene in Avatar just the colouring etc. I saw an Indian, like an original American Indian chopping wood on a sandy hill, and then a saw a him close up and he was holding out a shell towards me with engraved symbols on it.
As I looked at it I began to get intense ringing in my ears and then it got to the point that where the intensity seemed to peak and was absolutely deafening, and I woke up in a paralysed state with an intese feeling, like something was trying to invade my spirit and overpower me or something. I t lasted maybe 20 seconds and then I called out Jesus and it went away. Not sure if that was a mental thing seeing as I was raised Christian but have a small amount of faith these days. That was pretty much it and the rining started to come back in little waves as I tried to sleep again but eventually I just fell back to sleep.
Anyway, I hope you find it interesting, I know I find the stories from others intriguing.

Welcome, Nate! What an interesting experience. Good descriptions, too. Did you have a chance to notice any of the symbols on the shell? If you allow for the fear from the strangeness and intensity, maybe the Indian was trying to be helpful/good? Or did you feel neutral toward him and the situation?

hey Nate,
glad to have you aboard was glad to hear your story! my mom does the same thing when she feels scared or creeped out she always yells Jesus name as well. She believes that "the devil is riding your back" when I have experiences like that. She is a die hard Catholic so I can relate to you with the Christianity thing. Was your other 2 episodes the same as the vivid dream? how often do you get them and how long does your last?

Hey, I wish I could but I don't recall the symbols.
I wasn't afraid of him, he seemed peaceful and spiritual.
The fear didn't kick in until the ringing became deafening and I woke up in sleep paralysis and felt a force over me.
I also find I can hear the ringing at will and almost go into a bit of a state, I think I'm tapping into another frequency, or so I read. I sometimes get visions and images and ideas come to me in this state, I think it's similar to TM or is TM.

Well, the first one didn't follw a dream and I jusk woke up and felt a dark presence next to me and a weight on me, and I couldn't move. I broke out of that one by calling out Jesus.
The second one was quite strange because I was sleeping on a couch, and I though I woke up, and It was extremely vivd, I would swear I was in the room and my Father who lives in Lismore was sitting in a chair next to me in Sydney, and it was strange, and I felt a bit wierd, like a couldn't move. But the strange thing was, I hadn't woken up yet, because when I tried to break out if the paralysis I woke up and had sleep paralysis again, so it was confusing, it was like waking up twice.

Wow! You are having some pretty powerful experiences. Awesome! And you're an Aussie. I'm glad that the Indian was peaceful. And it's very interesting about the ringing in your ear (is it both ears?). You are probably experiencing the effects of interdimensionality and moving from one phase into another, or as you read, moving frequencies. And for some reason you are conscious at this stage whereas you might not have been in the past. Or so I conjecture. Whatever the case, if you maintain your composure as you are doing, I bet you will experience even more amazing things. It is also very interesting that you get visions/images in that state. It makes such sense that you are "tuning" in. And please feel free to share any more experiences or if you wish, the visions or images. Chatting about it amongst others helps us all see a bigger picture and can trigger new realizations for you, too.
