Hi dragonwyst wow! great catch I see her clear as day she reminds me of Grandmother Willow from Pocahontas. I put a link so you can see! This would also be great in the spirit and unexplined gallery maybe Alisa can highlight her for you or enhance it. She does great work I'm sure you seen it for yourself but, I can just imagine what wonders she could bring out your photo great job
Hi DW, thanks for posting the pic of the dryad, yep I see her. Isn't it wonderful how we naturally connect with the things of mother nature. I wish more people opened themselves up to the signs & messages (from nature) that have always been here, waiting for us to notice them.
I wonder if your sense with nature has something to do with your living in South Africa as you did. What a beautiful & wondrous land. It always seems to be that places that have less industry, steel & concrete, also seem to have people who understand & connect with nature on a greater level, using nature as a guide & the spirits of nature beings as our teachers. I think it's because we as a people have implemented so many artificial things into our lives, that we forget or can't recognize the earths vibration. I would imagine that it is quite easy to feel the earth's natural vibration & communication with us, when you're in a natural place such as Africa.
My mom & I used to touch trees & sit in silence leaning against a tree to try to communicate with them & feel what they are trying to convey. If you've ever tried it then I'm sure I don't have to explain the benefits of such an experience. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.
Alisa is one of my only friends that understands this type of relationship w/trees/nature. She sees faces & spirit in trees all the time & is always willing to share her experiences with who ever is willing to listen to what she has to teach. A lot of the spirit that she communicates with in her sleeping hours, seem to first make themselves apparent to her in the pics she takes of the many beautiful trees around her property. Ask her sometime about the tree that she "almost" watered.
OQ, right on! Your link was a great compliment to DW's dryad picture. What a spot-on analysis & validation of the nature spirits here to help guide us along our paths. I know it's only a cartoon movie, but I've always believed that the movies with intended "make-believe", seem to have more truth in them than we originally recognize, making them more movies of "belief", rather than make-believe.
Thanks for the link, what great memories of one of my favorite movies.
What a great photo. Thanks for sharing it Dragonwyst.
Oh boy, and the many syncs with Grandmother Willow. I have not seen the film Pocahontas, but this Grandmother Willow character has been brought up to me before in conjunction with a spirit I experience for a while called the Hag (a form of the Mother - Maiden, Mother, Crone/Hag - Triple Goddess).
It was when I shared this image below with Kaybee that she said it looked sweet and reminded her of Grandmother Willow, whereas to me she seemed a bit scary - with a spider over her face/mouth. At the same time I had been receiving the words, "Paint with all the colours of the wind," over and over in my mind, which I mentioned to her having no idea it was a song from Pocahontas (such syncs!) and the clip she shared was of this song and included Grandmother Willow.
Here are a few other captures/interps in which I have seen her:
However, having digressed here, I don't know that any of the versions mentioned is how you see your tree Dryad in the photo, Dragonwyst. I think we all see the same thing just that we see it each a bit differently (through our own perceptions). But what a great post - it synced with us all!
Alisa- what picture is the second one? and where was it taken? it's very intricate!I know this is in reference to another Disney movie, but that second photo also reminds me of the witch or sorceress Maleficent from sleeping beauty. I think it's her costume that she wears.
Oh yes, yes, the second photo (which is of Flux's arrowhead - a photo he took) DOES look like Maleficent! To be honest, I have all of my photos like this stored under a file called "Mother". They are all aspects of her. She is no shrinking violet. She is beautiful and loving, has those wonderful nurturing aspects, but she is also strong and fierce. At least that is how I see her. So definitely - I can see the resemblance between her and Maleficent.
Flux was experiencing this same essence of the mother at the same time as me (sync), so I kept seeing her in Flux's pics and visa versa. Looking closely at the image I could see so much and saw those points on her head as wings.
