A magnitude 4.5 earthquake near Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, Caraga, Philippines, was reported only 22 minutes ago by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 2 km beneath the epicenter early morning on Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at 1:29 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
