Small earthquake of magnitude 3.3 just reported 46 miles southwest of Karluk, Alaska, United States3.3 quake 25 Aug 9:02 pm (GMT -8) Just 10 minutes ago, a 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Karluk, Kodiak Island, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded in the evening on Thursday, August 25th, 2022, at 9:02 pm local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 22 miles below the surface. The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 3.3 as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.4. According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Karluk (pop. 37, 46 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
