A coastal low will continue to strengthen just off the Mid-Atlantic
coast, bringing gusty surface winds and precipitation chances across
New England this weekend. Meanwhile, an upper shortwave trough will
lift out of the Northern Rockies and into the Canadian Prairies.
Upper winds will moderate slightly on Day 3/Saturday, though an
emerging 30-40 kt 700 mb jet will maintain dry and breezy conditions
across portions of the Great Basin through Day 4/Sunday. The
expected overlap of sustained southerly 15-20 mph winds and near 15%
RH would typically increase fire weather concerns, but such
meteorological conditions will overlap a region of marginal fuels;
thus, precluding Critical probabilities at this time. 

Predictability wanes into early next week with ambiguity in the
progression of the overall pattern; however, the development of
deeper troughing over the western CONUS may induce an offshore flow
regime in Southern California on Days 5-6/Monday-Tuesday.
Additionally, some tropical influence from Hurricane Polo could
bring increased moisture to the southwestern CONUS early next week.
