Peru was shaken near Juanjui, Provincia de Mariscal Cáceres, Region de San Martin, by an earthquake of magnitude 5.0 only 28 minutes ago, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 126.3 km beneath the epicenter near Juanjui, Provincia de Mariscal Cáceres, Region de San Martin, Peru, after midnight on Monday, October 24th, 2022, at 12:04 am local time. The strength of the earthquake may have been tempered by its relative great depth below the surface, which makes it feel weaker in absolute terms.
