In a landmark move, citizens above 85 years and those with disabilities will now have the option to cast their votes from the comfort of their homes. This initiative, initially piloted during the 2020 Bihar assembly elections amid the Covid-19 crisis, will see election officials reaching out to 82 lakh elderly voters and 88.4 lakh registered persons with disabilities to assist them in voting through postal ballots.
