Small magnitude 3.6 quake hits 27 km southeast of Ierissos, Greece late at night

Just 4 minutes ago, a 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Ierissos, Chalkidikí, Greece. The tremor was recorded late at night on Friday, August 16th, 2024, at 11:43 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Karyes (pop. 240) located 9 km from the epicenter, and Ouranoupoli (pop. 1000) 15 km away.
