Magnitude 4.0 earthquake strikes near Adak, Aleutians West, Alaska, USAJust 33 minutes ago, a 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Adak, Aleutians West, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded after midnight on Friday, March 21st, 2025, at 12:57 am local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 29 miles below the surface. The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Adak (pop. 330) located 40 miles from the epicenter.
