Small tremor of magnitude 2.8 just reported 7 km northwest of Lubin, Poland An earthquake of magnitude 2.8 occurred early morning on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, at 5:54 am local time near Lubin, Lubin County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland, as reported by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Lubin (pop. 77,500) located 7 km from the epicenter, and Polkowice (pop. 21,600) 8 km away. In Glogow (pop. 65,400, 23 km away), Legnica (pop. 106,000, 28 km away), Zlotoryja (pop. 15,600, 42 km away), Jawor (pop. 23,900, 46 km away), Boleslawiec (pop. 40,700, 48 km away), Nowa Sol (pop. 40,400, 49 km away), and Leszno (pop. 63,600, 50 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
