Maye Musk on Elon's father
"I was the science nerd at high school. I didn't really get many dates. I don't know if men, boys, rather, were scared of me or whatever, but I didn't have many dates, so I wouldn't date anybody who wasn't, if he wasn't as good at math and science as I was, and no one was.
Although, my ex-husband was. He was better than me at math and science, and I hate to admit that, but that probably did help towards Elon being a genius."

Elon Musk explains why communism fails every single time it is tried and reveals the only way its promise could ever actually be fulfilled
"The problem with communism is it's universal low income. It's not that everyone gets elevated, it's that everyone gets oppressed except for a very small minority of politicians who live a life of luxury. That's what's happening every time it's been done."
"But if everyone gets anything they want, it will be achieved via capitalism. Because fate is an irony maximizer."

"Elon Musk is a genius by all accounts. His commitment and his work, like I asked him one time about how does he learn. And the amount of research, the amount of study that he does is unheard of, but he'll always say the most important thing is imagination. You can learn anything that you want to learn. You can study all these things that you have in a book. If you don't have the imagination to take it to another level, it doesn't mean anything. I sat down and spoke with Elon for a couple hours. It was really, really a joy." — Kobe Bryant

Elon Musk: Possessions weigh you down. They’re an attack vector.
Joe Rogan: “You’re selling your houses, you say you don’t want any material possessions. Why are you doing that?”
Elon: “I’m slightly sad about it actually. But I think possessions kind of weigh you down. They’re kind of an attack vector. People say, hey billionaire, you’ve got all this stuff. Well, now I don’t have stuff. Now what are you going to do?”

Elon Musk: My biggest advice is to make sure to have children.
“I really want to emphasize that it's important to have children and to create the new generation. And as simple as it sounds, if people do not have children, there is no new generation.
I'm very much in favor of humanity expanding and creating a bright and exciting future for the world. But fundamental to the furtherance of human civilization is having humans, as simple and basic as that sounds. And every year I look at the birth rates and I'm like, it's a bit depressing because birth rates seem to decline every year.
My biggest advice to government leaders and to the people in general, would be to make sure to have children, to create the new generation. And I think any incentives that can be done to incent the new generation, to make it easier for women to have children and to support the children, I think would be very wise. This is so fundamental, and I really can't emphasize that enough.
If you don't have a new generation, there is no new generation.”

Elon Musk:
"When I was kind of growing up, I did have this existential crisis where I was like, what's the meaning of life? Is this all pointless? Is there any point in existing at all?"
"I read the various religious texts and I read a bunch of the philosophers and I just couldn't really seem to find any good answers and then I read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which is really a book on philosophy but it's disguised as a book on humor."
"The point Douglas Adams was making is that the purpose of life is to learn more, to ultimately know what questions, to learn what questions to ask about the answer that is the universe. He was sort of making that, like that's the actual point, is to figure out the point."
"And so therefore we should take the set of actions that are likely to expand consciousness and our understanding of the universe so that we can know what the meaning of life is or why we're here and how the universe came to be."
