Goodbye

This was taken on one of the last days at the apartments. I went up the mountain for the last time to say goodbye to the orbs. We moved to a house so my scenery will change. (I can always go back to the mountain to take pictures but I have to drive and my wife won't be too happy releasing my leash for such a distance). When I took this picture I was walking down the mountain and did say "goodbye" thinking about the orbs. A whole bunch appeared and in the next picture, nothing. I also have another one where a lot of them showed up and some where only a few. I don't think it's a definite goodbye since they are everywhere and will surely show up wherever I go. It's just a change in scenery, which might be needed since a lot of my pictures look the same because of the location. Now I have a long list of honey-do's so my picture-taking time has been reduced. I guess I'll just carry my camera in the toolbox.

Goodbye is bitter-sweet. There is the feeling of leaving behind beloved familiarity, yet the excitement of the new and bigger (and hopefully better).

It makes me think of dreams of my pastlives where I leave an area that I love knowing I'll never have the same exact circumstance and setting again, but believing that change brings ultimate wonder and growth with more new places to fall in love with.

Your post also made me think about orbs and the ongoing question I have as to whether the orbs around us are always with us no matter where we go, or if there are some orbs that belong to a place. I tend to think that it is some of both.

And it reminds me of when I went on a vacation far up the coast of Australia. When I first arrived, at dusk, I looked out at the trees across the lake and saw spirit in them in the same way I see spirit (and orbs) in the trees at home. I wondered if they were different spirits though. I asked to know the answer to this and that evening, as I tossed and turned in between sleep and waking, the "wild" spirits of the area came to visit me. It was as if they walked into the door of the cabin we were staying in, which I saw exactly as it is in waking life.

The spirits looked like animals, as a majority of spirits do to me, but these were different. I remember thinking with a bit of shock, I've never seen this type before. They seemed solemn but curious, or maybe they just came because I asked them to, but they came in like shy but obedient children so I could meet them.

So, based on that experience, I would say in my opinion that most of the spirits and orbs captured outside in the wilderness are indigenous to that area. twocents
