Yes, post your filtered photo. yes There is definitely validity to filtering photos to bring out the subtle details. I believe that firmly and find filtering can reveal just as much as examining photos up close. And as if I need to say it, forensic science uses filter algorithms to reveal details for identification (like license plates for example) in fuzzy film and photos ( here is an example and another ).
