Thanks, Starchie. We are definitely onto something here about the prevalence of maleness in nature spirits (as I discuss with Chris in the posts above).
For me, the answer points toward Green Man (doesn't everything for me ). And though I know well that female plays a large and equal part in spirit and existence for balance, for me nature has appeared to be mostly male.
I was very pleased to see these soulful, peaceful faces, though I have seen as many fierce faces around in trees. It makes sense to me given my understanding of the father force which encompasses fierceness, drive, authority, determination, direction, etc. He wears many hats and is also as you said, "kindly, wise, paternal, thoughtful, unthreatening, contemplating, curious, peaceful, sympathetic, understanding." He is good, very good, if not a little scary to me at times. His fierceness is edgy, but I feel absolutely vital to the balance of life.
