Quoting from Geoffrey Hodson's book Fairies at Work and at Play...

Quote
Manikins are to be found in connection with trees, hedges, bracken, grass, heather and wild flowers. Those concerned with trees generally "live" in the trunk and branches, just inside the bark, through which they pass for purposes of recuperation and for work in connection with the growth and colouring of the branches and leaves.

The bracken and grass mannikins are nearly always dressed in green; their faces look like those of young children of about three years old; chubby, and with a happy, smiling expression. A little green cap is nearly always worn, the eyes are bright and beady, and occasionally, small pointed ears stick up above the cap.

....

Certain races of mannikins have small oval wings, of a glistening semi-transparent substance. These are not used for purposes of flight, as far as one can judge, though they tremble and quiver at every movement of their owner.

Though this is not an identical description to what I see in my photos, it seems similar. At least more so than the other fairy types Hodson describes. And I often notice these small oval-shaped wings. The mannikins that I see in my photos, like the one below, have dots for eyes ("beady" eyes I presume). I find them very cute.

My interpretation

It is hard to really interpret these, and I realize my interpretation is not super strong. And I wonder things like, what is that on his shoulder? Is it a flower emblem, or is it the face of another smaller mannikin? And does he have pointed ears or is that part of his hat? When I look in very closely, as always I see tiny snakes. Strange as it all is, at least it is always consistent when I "see" spirits in my photos. They all have overlapping multi-dimensional qualities as if they are in multiple poses at once and comprised of smaller entities and at some level of snakes.

To take it further, snakes to me are the spirit essence that coils and turns into orbs. This is my interpretation of what is going on based on my long deep looks, thinks, meditations, dreams, etc.

How I see this guy in his main pose is looking down. He has whitish hair and is wearing a cap. He has either snakes or antenna coming from his head. There is likely another one of these guys poking his head out from between the leaves on the right, but he is too vague to see well.
