Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.0 just reported 99 km northwest of Mīnāb, Iran

An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred only 23 minutes ago 99 km northwest of Mīnāb, Iran, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 16 km beneath the epicenter near Mīnāb, Hormozgan, Iran, early evening on Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at 7:24 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.0 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Devīn (pop. 10) located 78 km from the epicenter, and Mīnāb (pop. 70,800) 99 km away.
