Moderate magnitude 4.9 quake hits 57 km northwest of Ternate, Indonesia late at night

A magnitude 4.9 earthquake near Ternate, Kota Ternate, North Maluku, Indonesia, was reported only 11 minutes ago by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Indonesia. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 12. km beneath the epicenter late at night on Friday, July 11th, 2025, at 11:09 pm local time.
