Iran was shaken near Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan, by an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 only 8 minutes ago, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter near Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan, Iran, in the morning on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, at 8:10 am local time. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
