I experience this very thing...where on my first viewing I don't see the thing then at some later point it pops out at me. As such, I tend to hold onto all the photos I take (I can't really bear to delete any photos) because sometimes going back, even a year or so later, I suddenly see something in the photo that I didn't see then. I love letting time pass and viewing my old finds, too, because I will sometimes see new layers or more detail. Maybe it is letting the scene ripen.
