An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 occurred just 13 minutes ago, 10 km southeast of Hastings, New Zealand, according to New Zealand's Earthquake Commission and Geological Survey (GeoNet).
The quake struck at a moderately shallow depth of 39.10 km beneath the epicenter near Hastings, Hastings District, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, on the evening of Thursday, September 24th, 2026, at 9:49 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports.

Just 6 minutes ago, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck near Bima, Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded on the morning of Thursday, September 24th, 2026, at 11:30 am local time, at a shallow depth of 14. km below the surface.
The event was reported by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the first seismological agency to report it.
