According to a survey performed by AGB Nielsen Media Research, the following 10 television stations had the highest ratings in Serbia in Dec. 2005:

1. RTS 1 - 24.9%
2. Pink - 23.8%
3. BK - 11.1%
4. B92 - 6%
5. RTS 2 - 5.5%
6. RTS 3 - 3.3%
7. Studio B - .9%
8. Novi Sad 1 - .9%
9. Kanal D - .7%
10.SOS - .6%

(see http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache...p;hl=en&gl=ke&ct=clnk&cd=10)

My observations:

1. RTS 3 will be extinguished this year, so they will be out of the picture.
2. The B92 terrestrial program has the rights to NBA games and US shows like "Friends", etc. - hence their high rating, which would probably not be reflected in a satellite version of the channel which would lack such content.
3. TV Pink broadcasts Latino soap operas which are very popular in Serbia these days - would this type of programming really appeal to the diaspora?
4. The Council for Broadcasting (Savet za radiodifuziju) will be issuing TV and radio broadcast licenses this year. Big media players like Rupert Murdoch have already announced that they will apply for licenses. So if Serbia gets its own version of an excellent, foreign-owned TV station like RTL in Croatia, this will change things quite a bit.
