Have you ever met people who have died(I use this word as general) in dreams, meditation, etc?
I have.
My father died some years ago now and at the time I was very sad. Sad at the way he died(lung cancer) and sad because he was not an old man.
I remember crying quite a lot as I thought about him. I kept a shirt of his so I could bring back his memory vividly when I smelled it. I also had his wrist watch.
One night as I slept I dreamed of being at ground level in a multi-storey car park. I had to get to the top and I had to walk up all the stair levels to get there.
When I arrived at the top I found my father, looking very much alive, much younger and wearing the type of clothes he used to wear when we went on summer holiday.
He was smiling at me and he told me Not to cry as he was fine and quite happy now and everything would be ok.
The time spent with him appeared brief - and then I woke up.
I felt much better after I saw him in my dream experience.
A short time later I decided to dispose of the items I was keeping belonging to my father. I felt I was holding on to him and preventing him from moving on as he should be doing.
I had a little private shirt burning ceremony in the back garden and I gave the watch away to a charity shop.
The sadness of course gives way to remembering all the happy and funny times we were together, but at some level we are still together.
Love it is said - never dies.
