That was a fascinating story that had me sitting on the edge of my seat! scared I feel lucky and yet unlucky to have no stories from childhood that are very paranormal, certainly none as intense as your footsteps story. eek I suppose if you knew the real personal history of the house you might have had a clue who it was, as it sounds rather like a ghost. One that was aware of the visitors since he/she was stopping at each bed. blink

But I love this topic of discussion. So let me see what I can add. It is really in my recent adult life that all manner of paranormal things have been happening to me. I guess this has to do with the fact that I threw open wide the gate and erected a "Welcome" billboard. [Linked Image]

I'm sure out-of-the-ordinary things happened now and then as I grew up, as they do, but I wrote them off and tucked them away with some sort of explanation.

However, one instance with no explanation was when my sister and I at about 12 years of age were home alone in the summer time. We were playing in the backyard when a small stone landed near me. Then another landed nearby. We stopped our play and looked around trying to find out who was throwing them and from where. A few more landed around us, and as thoroughly as we looked we could not find anyone to be throwing them. Sort of a boring story really, but I remember thinking no "person" was throwing them. And all the stones landed nearby, but none struck us. Also, no rascally boy jumped out and claimed proud credit of scaring us. And it is pretty hard to imagine no credit claimed and no repeat performance.

The only other story that comes to mind was when I was 18 and home alone (again). It was a bright sunny day and I was sitting on the floor in front of the big floor-to=ceiling windows in our lounge room. I was painting my nails and feeling pretty happy when I heard a voice say, "Get out". I put my polish brush back in the bottle and stood up. I sorta smiled thinking, someone must be playing a joke on me. But I was in an isolated corner of our house with no nearby adjoining rooms, and positively no one else was home. I thought, maybe someone is outside and speaking through the outside (brick) wall at me. I dashed outside, but there was no one anywhere.

It was early afternoon, sunny, happy, no reason to be afraid, so I wasn't...necessarily. But I decided maybe I should take the message seriously. So I phoned a good friend to see if I could come over for a visit. She wasn't free, so I called a new acquaintance of mine and luckily she was free. I realize now in hindsight that the message to "Get out" was quite serendipitous. When I got together with the new friend we had such a great time that we started seeing each other regularly and became best friends and eventually got an apartment together and had great fun. She was an integral part of my future and now that I understand more how a larger reality works, I feel that this message was an intentional push to get us together. hug
